A nursery will be built at Unsworth Primary School as part of a new government scheme.
The Department for Education says the measures will “help parents get to work, increasing access to childcare when they need it, and supports the government’s promise to put more cash in their pockets”.
It comes amid the rollout of 30 government-funded hours of childcare, which is expected to save up to £7,500 on average.
”This addition will make a huge difference to our school family, as well as provide much-needed preschool capacity within the local community.
“Having a preschool within a school setting makes the transition from nursery to school so much easier for children as they are already familiar with their new environment and routines. We can’t wait to welcome children from autumn onwards.”
Places will be limited but parents who would like to register their interest in a preschool place should contact school on enquiries@unsworth.oaklp.co.uk.
