Elms Bank stars shine on the stage, tv and radio

Posted on Friday 12th February 2021

The Elms Bank choir always finds something to sing about, even during a pandemic! The choir of over 50 students and staff members have been lifting spirits with renditions of Don't Look Back in Anger, Hold Back the River, True Colours, and Stand By Me. They soon attracted attention outside the Elms Bank community, with celebrities lending their voices to some of their performances. Word spread fast, and the choir has appeared on local radio stations and on BBC North West, Granada Reports and Channel 5 news.

Not to be outdone, Crompton class also had a taste of fame when they appeared on 'That's TV Manchester' after designing and creating stressballs from balloons and flour. It was a messy business, with everyone covered in flour after one or two mishaps with exploding balloons. Year 8 managed to stop laughing and get cleaned up before their tv appearance though!

Year 8 pupils were a little more serious when they were in the spotlight for a live streaming of their performances of scenes from some of Shakespeare's plays. The live feed went out nationally as part of the Coram Shakespeare School Foundation's 'One Night of Shakespeare.' Our students did incredibly well, and really enjoyed performing.

It looks like Elms Bank is home to many future stars!
