Food Fusion at Hazel Wood High School
Hazel Wood High School enjoyed a taste of the food and cultures of different countries from around the world at their recent Food Fusion event.
Pupils, parents, staff, and members of our local community all joined together for tasting sessions, art activities, drama and even an ‘around the world’ cricket tournament in school. Bury Asian Women’s Centre gave a food demonstration, making delicious pakoras for everyone to try. Our Year 8 pupils made Biryani to complement the pakoras. The Rangoli art work from India was beautiful, and visitors learnt all about Japanese Butoh physical theatre. We were joined by pupils and their families as well as the Deputy Mayoress of Bury, Councillor Haroon, and officers from the Greater Manchester Police team. The evening was a great success and we look forward to welcoming everybody to our next event – our Community Coffee Morning.
