Macmillan Coffee Morning
On Tuesday, 5th November, the Elms Bank College Hub hosted a Macmillan Coffee Morning. We have a strong focus on community at the college Hub, and supporting charities is very important to us.
Staff and students worked collaboratively to plan and deliver this event. Students took part in an assembly based on the work of Macmillan cancer support, produced invitations, baked cakes, decorated our theatre and served our guests. Our guests were entertained by several musical performances from our students. The students in the Thrive pathway delivered their version of ‘This is the Greatest Show’ from ‘The greatest Showman’ film and our school choir also performed many hits, including songs by Bob Marley and George Ezra. It was a fantastic event and all of our guests had a whale of a time. Our headteacher, Mrs Langley-Sadler had this to say:
‘What a successful coffee morning! It was great to see the families of students enjoying a brew and a cake, whilst listening to the wonderful school choir and watching Willow class perform.
The college students did a great job in organising the event, hosting all our visitors and raising money for a great cause. I can’t wait for the next college Hub event!’
Our coffee morning raised £197.40 for Macmillan Cancer support.
