Bury School Athletics Championships

On Tuesday 4th July 2023, selected students from HWHS went head to head against other schools in the borough at the annual Bury School Athletics Championships. The students competed in a variety of events including throwing, jumping and running. Staff at Hazel Wood are extremely proud of the hard work, commitment and resilience of all of the athletes prior to and on the day of the event. Special shout out to Laila in Year 7 for securing gold in the 100m sprint, Sam Goody in Year 10 for achieving gold in the discus throw and Calvin Mahon in Year 10 for succeeding with 3rd place in the triple jump.
