Hazel Wood High School receives a technology boost from local firms.

Posted on Thursday 22nd April 2021

Your Local Bury launched an appeal for readers to donate their old laptops. Local technology company Infotech Bury expertly erased all data from the donated laptops and installed Windows 10 so that the laptops were ready for use by local pupils. Hazel Wood High School students were amongst the first to receive the laptops. Year 9 pupil Olivia summed up what a difference the laptops have made: 'When lockdown first hit, I was trying to do work at home in my books, as I only had my phone to work off, and I was really struggling. Then school gave me a laptop and it meant that during the last lockdown, I could join online lessons, complete homework and talk to the teacher. Now we are all back in school, I still use it for doing my homework and doing extra online lessons to improve my Maths and I know that if we have to work from home I can still get lessons and not miss any work.'  Thank you to 'Your Local Bury' and InfoTech Bury for their kind donations.
